Arts gallery opens on the first floor of Taipei 101 (2014/08/26)

Taipei 101 promotes Taiwan through its New Year’s Eve fireworks show and a partnership with the Tokyo Skytree. Now it has also opened a new arts gallery that will promote Taiwan’s “soft power.”

In this space are works from leading Taiwanese artists exhibited beside large-scale installations. This is Gallery 101, which opened today on the first floor hall of Taipei 101. Its first exhibition presents classic Taiwanese artworks.

We only had 21 days preparation time. I truly have a great deal of respect and gratitude for this team.

Taipei 101 is not only a place of commerce but also a cultural ambassador for the nation.

Wei Ying-chiao
Taipei 101 Chief Executive
Taiwanese culture should find ways to connect with the rest of the world. It doesn’t matter how small Taiwan is; we can use art to cross borders and link to the rest of the globe.

Besides shopping, visitors to Taipei 101 can now enjoy a taste of Taiwanese culture.
